Job Title: Gas TechnicianJob Description As a Gas Technician, you will work on projects related to landfill gas collection and control systems. You will monitor and maintain gas extraction systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and prevent the release of harmful gases into the atmosphere. Responsibilities + Identify and locate gas leaks in pipelines and systems to ensure safety and system integrity. + Maintain and repair gas pipelines to prevent leaks and ensure efficient operation. + Conduct pressure tests on gas systems to check for leaks and ensure proper functioning. + Use gas analyzers to measure and monitor gas concentrations. + Repair and maintain gas valves to ensure they operate correctly. + Ensure safety compliance by adhering to safety regulations and protocols. + Utilize SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling gas systems. Essential Skills + Proficiency in methane, landfill, and calibration. + Mechanical aptitude and experience with field instrumentation. + Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, particularly those involving gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters. + Familiarity with the GEM 5000 and Envision Analyzer. + Experience in data collection and environmental testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience as a field technician. + Proficiency in HVAC maintenance, equipment, and repair. + Familiarity with environmental field operations. Work Environment You will be working outside 50-60% of the time. At the end of the day, you will enter data and upload it to the system. You will be part of a team of 8, working in pairs when monitoring systems. The dress code includes steel toe boots and jeans, with PPE provided by the employer. The working hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
