Job Description

Position Title: Litigation Legal Secretary

Overview:

A growing litigation practice is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a high-performing team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents from dictation or handwritten notes
  • Manage phone communications professionally and courteously
  • Maintain client relations on behalf of assigned attorneys
  • Route legal correspondence and pleadings appropriately
  • Enter attorney time using timekeeping software
  • Organize and maintain legal files (physical and electronic) in coordination with records teams
  • Prepare and process forms for new matters, expense reports, reimbursements, and travel arrangements
  • Coordinate support services (messenger, copy, fax, etc.)
  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling and meeting coordination
  • Assist with trial preparation and court filings, including e-filing and audit responses
  • Monitor and maintain litigation docket/calendar
  • Conduct basic legal research (as needed)
  • Update contact and business development information in CRM
  • Provide backup support to other team members as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of litigation support experience
  • Strong familiarity with trial preparation, depositions, and appellate procedures (experience with higher courts or government litigation a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems (e.g., iManage)
  • Experience with CRM and time entry platforms (e.g., IntApp)
  • Knowledge of court procedures, rules, and legal terminology
  • Accurate and efficient typing skills

  • Availability for overtime as needed
  • Flexibility to support changing attorney assignments and priorities
  • Willingness to adapt to firm-specific tools and systems

Preferred:

  • Degree or business certification
